Behind the Marketing
Welcome to "Behind The Marketing", where we dissect and share the tactics and campaigns we're using for our different brands and clients to get results.
Today, we’re stepping into the nonprofit sector to shine a spotlight on a little-known but massively valuable service – Google Ad Grants.
It came to our attention recently, after a colleague mentioned how he’s been leveraging this service with a nonprofit he was associated with…
They've successfully secured up to $40,000 a month in actual ad spend, which is driving serious growth for them.
So what exactly is Google Ad Grants?
It is a service where Google provides up to $10,000, sometimes even more, per month in Google Search Ads.
All in an effort to help nonprofits increase their visibility, expand their reach, and make a bigger impact in their communities.
For a nonprofit with a limited ad budget, this service could be a potential game changer – if they know how to run ads effectively!
One way or another, it’s something we're excited to explore for our own nonprofit – Champions Football.
And if you're a nonprofit – or a business in the nonprofit sector – and you’re looking to boost your visibility, Google Ad Grants is definitely worth considering.
It provides a significant – essentially free – boost to your marketing resources and can help you make an even bigger impact.
For those who are effective in their marketing strategies…
This means turning $1 dollar in ad spending into $2, even $3 coming back.
In our own efforts with Champions Football we’re pumped to be able to give back even more to the kids that goes way beyond just supporting them on the field.
We imagine opportunities to guide these young talents, to provide them with experiences that help them into the future.
Our goal is to empower them to take strides that position them for recruitment and success in the sport they love.
We're looking at arranging college tours, exposing them to various educational opportunities while supporting them in the sport they love.
And the more we can earn using strategies like Google Ad Grants, the more we have to invest into the overall experience we can provide the kids.
We're certainly excited about harnessing its potential and look forward to sharing our results with you soon.
Stay tuned for exciting updates in the coming weeks!

Blue Chip or Bust
Sometimes the impact of our greatest achievements in life isn’t truly felt until long after we’ve accomplished it.
That’s really the mark of a true legend.
Someone whose accomplishments still generate memories, spark emotions and leave an imprint on people long after they’re gone.
Today, we're focusing on the enduring legacy of the late basketball legend, Kobe Bryant.
Known for his remarkable career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he went way beyond just making a name for himself on the basketball court.
Although sometimes viewed as a villain because of his relentless tenacity, trademark trash talk, and impressive record…
His influence extended far beyond the court, impacting countless individuals and leaving behind a powerful legacy.
Being a Kobe Bryant fan isn't just about admiring his exceptional talent and work ethic as an athlete.
It's about acknowledging and respecting how he shaped the next generation.
Kobe is an example of the legacy we should all aspire to leave behind.
Whether it’s coaching or volunteering or just being a good parent – what Kobe exemplified was raising the bar for everyone around him, and reaching out to help others join him at new heights.
The way Kobe is remembered is a reminder for us all…
That while our personal achievements and successes are important, the legacy we leave behind is truly what we will be remembered by.
The standards we hold ourselves to, the values we embody, the communities we lift up -- these are the markers of a true legacy.
Whether that's through coaching a local team, mentoring someone, or simply being a positive role model, every act counts.
Perhaps you've already started building your legacy and would like to share your experiences?
Or maybe you’d like advice on how to make an impact in your community?
I'd love to hear your stories and provide my insights.
In the end, we all have the power to create a lasting legacy, to shape societal norms, and to inspire the next generation.
How we wield that power will ultimately define our impact.
Uncommon Advice
Today, we're delving into the importance of daily routines when it comes to motivation.
For some, chaos may be their comfort zone – running through life by the seat of their pants waiting for the winds of inspiration to carry them through the next task.
In this mindset, it’s all too easy to find any old excuse to delay, to rest, to convince yourself that procrastination is just another part of the creative process.
And for a while it may work… but life has a way of catching up eventually.
And the result? Missed opportunities.
Maybe you space on a critical deadline that closes the door with a potential client…
Or the quality of your work starts to decline, under the stress of always waiting until that last possible moment.
So if you're sitting around waiting for motivation, think again – because discipline trumps motivation, every single time.
Let's break it down.
You see, motivation is a fair-weather friend.
It feels wonderful when it's around, pushing you to go the extra mile.
But just like a mirage, it disappears when you need it the most.
That's why you need discipline. A commitment to yourself, that helps you to form a habit so intrinsic… that not following through feels wrong.
With each passing day that you reach your goals and can make it through the checklist…
The path to your dreams gets just a little bit closer, lifting just a little bit of that resistance between you and a productive day.
Discipline and consistency are two sides of the same coin.
Every day you practice discipline, you build momentum through consistency.
And it all starts as soon as you hear that pesky alarm…
Overcoming that initial inertia right after the alarm goes off can feel like climbing a mountain –
But setting small, attainable goals and checking them off your list can generate a sense of achievement, fueling your momentum for the rest of the day.
Start with hydrating your body.
Drinking 16-32 oz of water right after you wake up not only replenishes your body but also marks the first victory of your day.
Dedicate a part of your morning to learning something new.
Crack open a book, tune into a stimulating podcast, or jot down innovative ideas.
This ritual can challenge your thinking, stir your curiosity, and inspire you to forge ahead.
Perhaps for you, it’s all about movement.
A brisk walk, a quick run, or an intense workout session can jump-start your day with a burst of energy and a sense of accomplishment.
The goal is to hit the ground running, with a list of completed tasks that set the pace for a highly productive day.
Each of these micro wins to start your day builds confidence – which in turn, drives productivity.
If you walk into work feeling accomplished, you know you're starting off ahead.
I hope these insights inspire you to create a daily routine that drives your discipline, nurtures your momentum, and brings you closer to your goals, one day at a time.
Keep an eye out for next week's issue, where we'll bring you more strategies and advice to boost your productivity. Rooting for ya!
