Behind The Marketing

Email Newsletters…

If you’re reading this you clearly understand their value from a subscriber’s perspective… but do you know how exactly they generate revenue?

This is where the first fork in the road presents itself:

between free and paid subscriptions.

Each comes with its unique challenges and opportunities.

For paid newsletters, the stakes are high.

Customers who are paying for your content will expect constant value – which can make it necessary to bring on more writers and a dedicated marketing team for continuous optimization.

Yet, this approach generates direct revenue from subscriptions.

With a free model newsletter model, on the other hand, you have a different set of challenges…

And the main question becomes how to monetize.

The answer lies in building a robust subscriber base and attracting sponsorships.

But tread carefully; Consistency in your message is critical.

Both your readers and sponsors trust you to provide relevant and valuable content.

Flood your readers with incongruent messages, and you risk fracturing this trust with both.

Their marketing teams are on the lookout for platforms that resonate with their target audience, and if deviating from that you risk them pulling the plug on their ads.

Consistency applies to not only your message but also to your delivery.

Regular, reliable content is part of what builds loyalty with your subscribers.

Yet, as with any aspect of business, never find yourself solely reliant on one thing.

It's essential to diversify, find other avenues, and ensure the sustainability of your venture. After all, the landscape of digital marketing can shift rapidly.

This brings us to the most vital part of making money from newsletters:

Creating content that you are passionate about.

It's that authenticity and commitment to staying up-to-date within your niche that brings your newsletters to life and creates the kind of engagement sponsors are looking for.

Athlete Factory: Helping Pros Become BRANDS

In modern-day athletics, it’s a common career move for many athletes to make the transition from being a sports persona to becoming an influential brand.

For many, the temptation is strong to sign the first endorsement deals that come across their desk and to start trying to profit from their popularity as quickly as possible, by becoming influencers.

However, our new initiative called the Athlete Factory is working to redefine this narrative, and we’re excited to tell you about it today.

Motivated by our affinity for sports and commitment to sports communities, we have founded Athlete Factory with a vision to elevate athletes beyond their on-field performances.

We aim to cultivate athletes into forces of influence, using their platform to instigate positive change.

The term "factory" is symbolic of our mission to guide raw talent through a transformative process.

Our goal is to help athletes evolve into lucrative brands and responsible businesses that endure beyond their active sporting careers.

This innovative approach breaks the traditional mold where athletes are idolized in their prime, only to be discarded once the glory fades.

Athlete Factory focuses instead on nurturing athletes and helping them utilize their unique skills, values, and influences to shape the world in a meaningful way.

We are committed to assisting aspiring athletes in securing recruitment opportunities while also preparing them for the realities of the sports industry.

This involves helping these athletes develop their personal brand from an early stage...

But what really makes Athlete Factory a “game-changer” is how we help athletes gain financial literacy.

Because it's one thing to acquire wealth, but another entirely to retain and manage it.

Through this pioneering approach, athletes are empowered to chart their own courses – armed with the skills and knowledge necessary to become not just fleeting stars, but enduring influencers with a lasting legacy.

If you're an athlete seeking guidance on your brand strategy or looking for advice in overcoming challenges, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Uncommon Advice

In our journey to success and self-improvement, it's common to find ourselves fueled by the urge to prove others wrong.

But rather than striving to prove others wrong, what if motivation came from proving yourself right?

This shift can be transformative for maximizing drive and productivity.

The desire to prove others wrong – as motivating as it might feel in the moment – is at its core, coming from a place of insecurity.

Carrying a chip on your shoulder drains your energy and won’t yield the positive mindset you need to sustain long-term growth and success.

Look: We've all achieved things that seem impossible more than once if we truly reflect on our lives.

However, when we're working hard to prove others wrong, it's easy to make decisions that might not be in our best interests.

On the other hand, when we strive to prove ourselves right, we become clear about our end goals…

Ensuring that our decisions align with our personal growth and success.

So instead of pursuing short-term wins, aim for long-term value.

Don't just fight to secure small victories…

Focus on creating something of value that can provide substantial returns and continue to grow well into the future.

And above all else, let the greatest win be the simple fact that you’re doing what you love to do – each and every day.

Trying to prove someone wrong confines us, limiting the impact we could make otherwise.

By proving ourselves right, we take off the blinders and stop being short sighted.

So, ask yourself:

"Is this for you? Why are you doing this?"

Check the source of your motivation and make sure it's rooted in the right place – a place that promotes your growth, well-being, and overall success.

When you shift your mindset from trying to prove others wrong to proving yourself right, you'll find yourself building something you truly love, enjoy, and want to continue working on.

So, until the next edition of Uncommon Advice, keep nurturing this mindset shift and watch as it propels you toward even greater success.

Rooting for ya!
