Why I Prefer The Newsletter Business
You aren't stuck in a perpetual state of renting
Welcome to The Uncommon Advice, a weekly newsletter where I provide actionable insights for building a business that gives you the time freedom and lifestyle you want.
Why I Prefer The Newsletter Business
Many Internet business are hyper focused on new sales only.
Paid Ads = Sales
The challenge is algorithms change and ad accounts get shutdown. Plus, your company has to constantly be…
Building new funnels
Split Testing Creative
Thinking about the next promotion
Worried about shrinking Profit Margins
You are stuck in a perpetual state of renting an audience and as long as you rent the audience you will always need to pay for more ads.
The best way to get out of the renters cycle is to own your audience by creating a newsletter.
Here are six reasons why newsletters are great for every business.
1. Time Freedom:
A newsletter model follows YOUR schedule. Working your own hours is one of the biggest freedoms in a newsletter model.
It takes way less time to Press Send then it does to build new funnels.
2. Strong Cash Flow:
The numbers make sense. If it cost you .25 cents for every 1000 emails you send
Newsletter can grow financially with little effort - sponsorships, ad placement, membership packages, referral programs, etc.
One new client a month instantly increases cash flow with the same amount of work.
3. Healthy Profit Margins:
I prefer simple business math, which is another reason I love newsletters.
If costs about .25 - .40 cents for every 1000 emails you send and advertisers are willing to pay you $10 - $50 for every 1000 emails you send.
The more you undertsand your subscribers the more money advertisers will pay.
4. Simplified Marketing:
One step funnels are better than complicated sales funnels.
The more subscribers you get the more money you make.
Our focus is simple. We grow subscribers and drive engagement.
5. Small Team Of Great People:
You can build a big business with a small team.
I am not sure about you, but I prefer to have a team of a few A-Players instead of a bloated company of employees waiting for their next 15 minute break.
A newsletter model lets you make your team - and better yet, with talented, passionate people.
There are also ways to partner with content experts and influences to increase the rate of growth in your success.
6: A Sellable Asset When You Decide To Cash Out:
Many people end up building a business they can not sale. I know from experience.
Agencies, Coaches and Consultants are a few that suffer this fate. It’s all built around the owner.
They spend years building their business, but end up with nothing to show for it.
A newsletter doesn’t have to be built around your name. Our biggest newsletters are brands and not experts.
They become a stand alone business that companies will happily buy for large multiples!
The Wrap
Traditional business models are getting increasingly harder. This doesn’t mean it has to be for you.
When you learn how to leverage your own newsletter to build an audience, almost every brand will want to have a crack at it.
At the end of the day, a business should support your lifestyle. It should be easy, lucrative, and fun. The newsletter business is just that.
Uncommon Advice: Own Your Audience
Putting a newsletter into my business helped me sleep better at night.
When your entire business is built around paid ad accounts you have to understand you can get banned, algorithms update, and rules constantly change.
Paid Ads is nothing more than rented an audience. You have to pay more to keep getting in front of people.
Adding a newsletter on the back end of the paid ads is how you begin to own your audience.
The bigger your owned audience gets the less you stress about your paid ads and the better you sleep.
Rooting for ya!
